Girls Rosh Chodesh Davening

On Friday, November 5, Rosh Chodesh Kislev, a special Rosh Chodesh davening for girls took place. Joined by AJA eighth grade girls, the High School girls held a davening filled with song and even a musical guitar performance by former Bat Sherut Chemda Luz. Ayla Cohen, a junior on the planning committee for the event, noted that “it was a really nice opportunity for girls to have leadership opportunities in davening, which we usually don’t have.”

The event was a collaborative operation, as many girls worked together to plan and execute the davening. Ayla explained that students could help in multiple ways.  “To put the entire event together, there were chazzanits, people who read Torah, and even people who made decorations for the room,” Ayla said. Following the davening, there were sweet treats for the girls to enjoy as they headed to their first period classes.
